PADI Instructors and Divemasters can extend their training, usually in combination with their IDC to include the EFRI (Emergency First Response Instructor) Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses. This will enable you to pass on great knowledge and care for divers and non-divers from this distinctive and supportive training agency.

The courses emphasize hands-on skills practice and demonstrations while learning how to motivate students, present course material confidently and effectively and how to present an effective scenario-based learning experience.

Through a multi-media approach of independent study, classroom sessions and practical teaching assignments, you learn to conduct Emergency First Response courses. This all important knowledge that you pass to others may one day save a life, so be proud to become an EFR Instructor.

• Have completed the EFR Primary Care (CPR) course within the past 24 months
• Have completed the EFR Secondary Care (First Aid) course within the past 24 months
• Have completed the EFR Care for Children course within the past 24 months.
• Those with current CPR/First Aid instructor credentials from other organizations may take the EFR Instructor Crossover Program.

Because teaching the Emergency First Response Primary Care course requires the ability to easily reference standards and maintain a library of updated materials, instructor candidates are required to have personal copies of the following materials for the instructor course and to teach Emergency First Response courses.
